Went to the celebration of 110 year anniversary of the church where the wife and I got married today. Had a great time but what made it even better is one of the old neighbor told me he had pulled the old 48 F-6 out of its storage spot and that if I would come wirh a tow strap and pull it away it was mine. Yep; no brainer there. The wife just doesn't understand what I need another project for. All too formiliar for all too many that frequent this sight. I have already located a different engine for it and will at some point have the truck running. This truck used to belong to the Minn. highway dept. in the Willmar district. Have known of the truck for years and have waited for the right time... and today I was in the right place.
I've decided that the wife isn't to see this one because it is a big old thing in her mind and what on earth would I want with it. Well, does she feel that way about the colored diamonds on her left hand or the diamond she has put in an order for the thirty year anniversary next year. Yes, my vanity items are bigger but what has been put out for my enjoyment does not come close to what was spent on hers. One must keep a proper perspective here. Have an aviation friend that says that what the wife spends on her toys he spend on his aircraft. He refers to the aircraft as the college tuition for the grandkids. He will sell it when they come of age and give it to them to go to school. I might not go that far with the trucks but I'll help where I can. Take care all.
