If your going to go with Ford OEM lights than you don't need an Anchor nut gun.. (looks like a heavy duty pop rivet gun, but with a changeable stud/tip for different sizes) The OEM units are 'studded' and use hex nuts.. But, when I'm installing aftermarket lights ect, I like to use the anchor nuts with machine screws instead of sheet metal screws, especially in aluminium... Better hold, and great for sheet metal/panel work where you don't have easy access to the other side for a nut.. Kinda the same principal as a speed nut, but without the clip.. But either way will work, if you just use screws.. Body panels aren't as thick as they used to be, and I don't like sheet metal screws that can pull loose or distort the metal.. Especially on a roof panel.. Just my preference.. Probably overkill on my part.. You may be able to get one at NAPA, post tool or harbor freight for a good deal.. Our shop is supplied by a vendor, so I've never had to purchase one..

If OEM isn't top priority too you, there are alot of nice looking aftermarket lights that may be an easier install than stock units as far a drilling/access/wire..

I don't know that OEM equipment is a priority, OEM look is! So I may have to use OEM...... Although this sounds like a good excuse to buy a new tool, one that I'm sure will come in handy down the road.....I can think of 3 or 4 times in the past that it may have been useful...

thanx

Here's some new info for an old thread. To get OEM lights do a search for F81B-15442-A. This is the roof light made by Truck-Lite and used on early Super Duty's. I found new ones from under $5.00 ea. to $10.00 ea. You would still need the 10 nuts and the harness which you should get from a dealer as there are several depending on your options.
I was lucky and found a set-up for my F-250 in a salvage yard, and they did not cut the harness as most are prone to do.
