CHP tried them when they first came out, an officer I talked to said they hit just as many deer with them as without them. My Ranger had them on it when I got it, first mod I made was to yank 'em off, they looked silly. BTW, has anyone noticed that the majority of deer roadkills seem to be does? I saw a buck DOA this morning on the way to work, first one I've seen for a long time. Nice rack, too. It was gone when I came home, but a doe will lie there till the vultures are done with it. -TD
A visit to the roadkill cafe will tell you where that buck went.....
Been there, done that. Yes, I've eaten roadkill. The skunk was a little ripe, though....
Hmmmm, if left in the sun long enough, they will cook themselves, but I prefer some Johnnys seasoning salt, a can of beer, wrap it all up in foil, and set it on yer intake for a 1 hr road trip. Enjoy over some fresh Harp seal innards, along with a nice bottle of ripple, and you gots some goooooood eats!!!!!
I know, and actually the only roadkill I've eaten was deer, and he was still warm and twitching when my friend found him and dragged him into his motorhome. He's from Guatamala, and I guess they do things differently down there. We were camping way up in the mountains, so we butchered him out and cooked him on on the spot. -TD
