I get a code 67 KOER and 11 for memory -I had a code 14 in memory replaced TFI module with a good spare and it hasn't come back after I cleared memory. For KOER codes I warm O2 sensor for a min or so at 2000 rpm shut off motor wait 10 sec start motor and plug in jumper wire- I hear a click and rpm changes- I take it this is timing check- then nothing happens
Dogg I thought the same thing-look mid way up the block toward center there is a sensor there. Thats where mine went. Guy who did my engine swap (mistake) missed this among other things. I knew it went somewhere it was too clean. There is a single wire along side this with a barrel shaped piece of plastic on the end-no idea on that one -my old 89 Taurus 3.0 had the same thing- is that what you're talking about? I had to feel around to find that sensor
Nijwnfi, yes thats the knock sensor the single wire plug is the one I am talkin about....I don't think its supposed to be hooked up..probably an option we don't have

I'm guessing you got a KOEO 67, not a KOER 67. I would service that but I can't imagine that it would stop you from being able to run the KOER test, but you never know. The pinpoint test for no codes seems to apply to all types and since you can get into the KOEO test this one has be stumped.
Ken I got KOER codes going. It was that code 67 I was getting no voltage at pin 30 on PCM harness w/ trans in park. Chased wire and found a break at the diode inwire loom at driver side fire wall. Code 67 can cause no KOER - I learn something new every day! I'm beat it's late I'll pull codes tomorrow, let you know what I get
The ECU thinks your lean so its adding fuel, that why you get the black smoke. Start by checking the O2 wiring, then run the pinpoint test, if you need a copy let me know.
The new O2 sensor was the problem. I checked wiring and it was OK. I was not willing to replace PCM yet so I went back to sensor. I checked it on the workbench and it lost voltage when I kept flame on it for 20 sec. When I took flame off voltage went up. Voltage dropped when I reapplied flame. Without flame voltage stayed up. Don't get it I didn't use sealant on anything.
