96 XLT needs O2 sensor(s)...HELP!
I have a 96 XLT 4.0 that had the Check Engine light go on recently. Local mechanic says it's an O2 sensor code and that it's very likely one or both sensors need to be replaced.
Does anyone know what the sensors might cost and where I can find them? Also, is this something I can do myself or should I just have a pro do the work?

There are pinpoint tests that can be done on the O2 sensors to see if they are working propperly , How many miles on your Explorer ? Ford parts will have them , Plus Id Imagine any auto parts store has them . First confirm which one(s) are defective , You can replace them with a socket designed for their removal .
