emailing a video

emailing a video

i took some video with my digital camera of the leftovers of charlie that hit here. problem is that some of them are like 70mb so i can't email them does anyone know of a program or a way to shrink them small enough to email

or see if the person you sending it to has ICQ or yahoo messenger, you can transfer it directly to them that way. zip up a video file works but doesnt make it much smaller then it is.

Either copy to cd and mail it or
look into the free hosting sites you can post it on...

Maybe recapture the video to your pc and break it up into 5 Meg segments....

many more files but still doable...

i found 40mg of free hosting on web-a-file.com. that works good for sending someone large files

Thanks for the responses i'll give them a try. on copying it to a cd can i copy a video to a regular cd or do i have to have a dvd writer.

you can make a video cd but not all dvd players will play a video cd. look at your burrning software like nero, there is an option to make a video cd

You can put vidoe on cd's.... jus tlike saving it on your hard drive...

My cable modem company offers a small free home page...

it depends on the format it is in, mostly i think it be a avi, if it is that put it on any cd.

If you're running Windows XP, you can get Windows Movie Maker from the Windows update page. It's a very basic movie editor. It'll allow you to make the movies into smaller formats and you can even add dramatic music and such. I've used it a few times and it does well. As far as sending it via email, a lot of the free email services have limits on the attachment size you can receive, some as little as 2MB. So you might want to find an online storage place, to where you can link your video.
