ooh ok i seen those before, sometimes they have a long driveshaft hooked up to a 12hp briggs&stratton engine or something equivelant right? in Fl they call em Swamp Trollers
well Reave i got a buddy who made 2 for his dad and grampa's boat....he said he used 20hp kohler engines with a belt driven shaft he said belt driven was in case it hit a root or tangled in weeds it wouldnt rip the engine off its stand it would slip the belts...and you could just dis engage the belt drive and paddle away from the obstacle....he said to be sure to mount it on a THICK peice of wood like 1-1/2" plywood and secure that to the boat ....then run your shaft at a precise angle and the shaft is best to be balanced and have carrier bearings along the way down so it dont warp and shake the boat to death...he said to use a removable pulley on the engine so you can adjust the prop speed / RPM ratio accordingly...if you need more help ill ask him to sign in here to help ya
