has anybody ever heard of the band Unscarred? i downloaded a snowmobile video and they had that band playing. sounded pretty cool too. i was trying to find some songs by them, but could not do so. im guessin the song im lookin for is called "grounded" but im not real sure.
The power is amazing (will wipe the floor with any sled except the ZR 900), mainly because it is so light. My dad has a 2002 ZL 800 SS and it's a semi truck compaired to mine. I can barely pick up the front of his sled, mine is a piece of cake.
It runs the 1/4 in 12.7 on snow, top speed approaching 117-118 in perfect conditions
My buddy has a 94 yamaha V-max, we stopped at the beginning of a field and I got off my sled to go talk to him. After a minute he decided to be a smart one and take off on me. I ran over to my sled and took off after him. He had a good 5-7 second head start, within 500 feet i blew by him, hard. I also wasn't trying very hard as my sled was just being broken in, still only has 120 mi on it (only 5 driving hours, it has an hour meter stock). I ordered it in april of last year, picked it up in the fall, drove it once this winter (weather was horrible). I used to have a 98 cougar 550, I had that since new.
man that sounds like an awesome sled! my other sled is a 96 skidoo formula III 600...man that thing is fast....when its actually running. my buddy also has, or had i should say, a 94 v-max 600....man could i walk all over him.
now that i have this zr the F3 hardly gets ridden. that triple/triple is a PITA to start when its cold out. that and it eats plugs like a ****. we got a real good deal on it. then shortly after the motor went, and had that replaced. then last year the track and most of the rear suspension was replaced. got probly 3 times what its worth stuck into it.
kinda nice to talk about sleds with someone again. i guess its a bit off topic, but o-well, i started the thread. LOL.
Yea it really is a great machine. That 98 cougar had 5500 mi put on it and I didn't have 1 problem with it besides routine maintenance. That was 5500 HARD miles too. I can't wait to get back on the sled and give it another go. I was only able to get it up to 85 where I was riding, but the speedo is a lot more accurate than my cougar's. My cougar was about 10 mph over at 90 mph. So my speedo said I was doing 100 and I was really doing 90. The new sled is about 1-2 mph off radar at top speed, thats really good. So now when my speedo says i'm doing 100 it'll feel a little different this time. Mine have electric start and reverse, no rope pulling for me (that 700 is impossible even with EFI)
