This is almost automotive... How do you clean coveralls, aprons, jeans, etc. that become full of grease, oil, etc.? I've worked in places that offer uniforms, and it always amazed me how they seem to clean anything that got on them. My coveralls have been soaked overnight in a cleaning mixture that would alert the EPA, but the oil spots are still there! Any ideas?
I start by rubbing in Go-Jo in the worst spots or globs of grease and oil, soak out using a paper towel. Then put everything in a big bucket with Purple Cleaner and a little water, stirring well to get a good soaking. Let them sit overnight, drain out the nasty water. Then into the washer with more Purple Cleaner on prewash cycle. When that drains out, I put in a double dose of Tide and prewash cycle again. Then I put it through the heavy wash cycle. Afterwards I wipe the washer tube and agitator with Go-Jo and run it again with some old jeans to clean the washer.
Throw out any rags that are grease or oil soaked, trying to clean them is not worth the trouble.

I'll also add that if you can avoid washing them in the washing machine, then do so. Since all that petroleum FLOATS, it might not run down the drain of the washer. That means some grease stains may end up on some non-work clothes in future washings.
