found a ranger
today while up at my local dealership, i looked at an 87 ranger. it had the 2.3, 4 speed, ext. cab, and the aftermarket tubular grill. the body on it was in decent condition. it had a few bad spots, but you gotta get close to see them.when i took it for a drive it handled great, drove and rode real nice, although it was kinda gutless, but with the 4 banger it was no suprise(and im pretty sure it had high gears, it would easily do 55 in third). the tires looked good for being at about 1/2 wore, my dad said they were a little chopped, but i didn't see it. the only problems that i found was that the latch to recline the front seat was kinda "wore" out and if you pressed back hard enough it would recline without needing the switch. also the clutch would bleed down and start grabbing after about a minute or so of sitting with the clutch in. they were asking 1500 for it. i made them an offer of 1000 for it. think its a deal.
did ford use an internal or external slave cylinder in 87? and does anyone know how much one would be? I had to get one for my bronco that was 75 bucks for an external.
