well a few weeks ago i was cruisin down a gravel road, and it starts acting up. it wanted to die, and the check engine light kept coming on when the motor'd cut out. well i changed the fuel filter, reset the computer, and it ran. then about a week later it starts doing it again, cept it dies....so i reset the computer and it ran. i figured it was something electronic...so i called one of the local parts store, got some sort of module for it, put it in, and it ran. now yesterday i was going across our field to help fix a combine and it starts acting up...AGAIN. then it dies, so i reset the computer, and it runs. it seems to act up whenever i go across larger constant bumps. gravel roads, fields, etc. any clue what this could be?? its starting to get irritating.
thanks guys. my dad (being the wiser one ) discovered the problem tonight. it had a bad wire that was grounded to the body. whenever i hit a bump, it would disconnect, but when going down a highway it was in the right position to run, kinda odd IMO.
he kinda figured it was a bad wire or a grounding out problem when i discovered something. i would start the pickup and whenever the door was slammed, it would cut out and sometimes die.
im kinda suprised it ran period after seeing what it was. but its all good now. thanks again.
