Have a new xlt, looking at puting new tires and wheels on it. Found this leveling kit by daystar says I can put 33" to 35" tires on it. Was looking at the Nitto 325/60/r18 with some weld rims on it. Did a conversion came up to be 33.4" sounded like it would be ok. Was just wondering if I would have any problem with this application?
not with the tires, but the leveling kit. I put a daystar on mine and i was disapointed to see the uppercontrol arm was stretched to its limit and was almost touching the spring. After seeing the result i immediatley took the kit out. I reccomand you reconsider. just trying to save you a headache.
Alot of people here have installed the Daystar kit and have no problems. I have approx 5000 miles on the truck since installation and have had no adverse affects. I am not sure what headache 'rick' is refering to. As for those tires with the lift it will be no problem
I just ordered an 05 FX4 and want to put the Daystar kit on it to level it out. Does anyone know if the kit for the 04 will work on the 05. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't. Thanks.
I have the Daystar 2.5 leveling kit on mine. Before I installed the 3" Body Lift I had 325/60R18 Nitto Terra Grapplers and they rubbed a little bit but nothing major. After the Body Lift I went to 325/65R18's!
I put the 1 5/8" Autospring Leveling kit in my FX4 Supercab, and couldnt be happier. The upper control arm will only hit the spring on full extension from a jack being on the frame, but that does not worry me. Installation was a breeze, but I had a lift and access to just about any tool. Took an hour to do the kit, both sides, and then another hour to align, so two hours start to finish. Pretty easy and straightforward install with the Autospring.

You obviously have little automotive knowledge if you dont know what headache i am referring too.
I have more knowledge than you think. Most people with out concrete facts will be vague like saying 'they told me' or 'save yourself the headache' and when questioned about who 'they' are or what headache will respond with some sort of insult. Maybe you should get a truck first before informing other people of your opinions.

i have had the daystar on for 10,000 miles and no problems. i too don't know what you are talking about whiteboy. my upper control arms are no where near their limit and i can stick my big hand between the arm and the spring. you are the first person i have heard say anything about stretched out control arms, whatever that may be. i think possibly the only time you would have a problem is if you were beating your truck offroad and you managed to get a wheel off the ground and maybe over extend your shock.
