What guage wire?

Does anybody know what guage wire Sears uses for the sensors and opener button on a craftsman 1/2 hp garage door opener? I need to replace the wires on the opener buttons and want to make sure I get the right guage. It looks like it's 18 but I wanted to double check....By the way, I did check the manual and their web page. It gives me the part number to reorder, but not the guage of the wire...

Thanks.
Matt

guage wire

I have used doorbell wire in the past with no problems. Readily available at Home desperate or Lowe's, etc.

18 AWG is fine

The open/close control circuit is Class 2 wiring which is low voltage.

My opener has wire marked 22 AWG. 18 AWG will work fine, it's more than what you need.

Doorbell wire or alarm wire will also work fine. It's all Class 2 wiring.
You can buy it by the foot at your local Home Depot, Lowes, or Radio Shack.
