Under the dash, above the break pedal, you'll see a box/module with a white strip of tape imprinted with 5 large numbers. Use those numbers to unlock the doors using the keyless entry and to re-program the system (but WITHOUT deleting the factory code) to use your own 5-digit code. Do you have an owner's manual to accomplish this? If so, follow their instructions. Pretty easy.
Thanks, I didn't look there! Watching mauals on ebay. I downloaded Lincoln info on keyless entry which I'm sure is the same EXCEPT for the location of the code!
"1. Ener factory set code (keypad will illuminate when pressed).
2. Press 1/2 control within 5 seconds of step 1.
3. New your [new] personal 5 digit code. Enter each digit within 5 seconds of the previous one".
Either code should now unlock the driver's door. Pressing the 3/4 button within 5 seconds will unlock all the other doors; I'm not sure about the tailgate.
It's easy when you know how/Where! The module is white, on the left hand side, under dash by the parking brake. I wonder if location is different for adjustable pedals?
