>I am going to do some thinking out loud here.... so indulge me and offer your opinions....
I'm a very helpful guy... but the last few months here have changed my thought processes....
When I see a "horror story" the first thing I do is :
look at the post count in the upper right corner of the window....
if very few post, I am immediately skeptical....
and if I see "schema" in the post I suspect this is a generated post by someone with a macro....
Am I overly cautious or just too happy with my 32k+ smile mile 6-0 and truly have the rose colored glasses on ?
I'm not acusational here... just wondering - OUT LOUD

My simple mind can only surmise that :
1) If I have internet access and most do nowdays
2) if I were GOING to buy a vehicle, I would do some research BEFORE I bought the vehicle...
3) and maybe even posted some questions before I purchased
4) and maybe even asked about how to personalize the vehicle when I did get it...
I know, I know - my simple mind has not covered all cases... but you know...
I only have a simple mind and wonder about first post horror stories on an enthusiast forum....

I tend to approach purchases the same way once the price hits a certain level...as I do not like surprises.
I find though that even close friends of mine do not share my same zeal for saving money or feeling secure with their decisions. Well...I take that back...in regards to vehicle purchases my freinds prefer to have me do their research which is fine since I enjoy it. For a couple of them I even do their new vehicle negotications for them. (my wife thinks I am nuts) So no Mr. Adams I would not say that you have simple thoughts.
In regards to first time poster horror stories...most people go out and spend their hard earned cash for a new vehicle expecting to not have a care in the world...then their auto world goes to hell in a hand basket and they don't know how to deal with it. Then you couple that with the fact that they often get a less than exceptable / non sympathedtic service dept...then we get them.
Post # 1 is often and an explosion of frustration, anger, and a quest for help. "I have a new truck...everything is broke...everyone is screwing me over ...and all 6.0s are junk and Ford is gonna buy 'em all back ...or ...else!"
Sound familiar?
Anyway...my point is many / most are just honest people reaching out for assistance. Because they are new they only know to lash out. We almost always have to ask for the engine build date, what are sysmptoms, what has been done etc. before we can calm the down enough to provide real assistance.
And Trolls...so what if it takes a couple of extra posts or a couple of extra days even to call them out...to save even just one poor 6.0 owner...well...I think we sometimes pull the trigger to quick and chastise some folks that have real issues. Scare them off even. At the very least we heighten there anxiety level.
And yes this is an ENTHUSIAST FORUM. And I am enthused to be here. Keep in mind that people are emotional about their issues If we are not here to help people with their issues then we need to post a BIG sign that states if you have a problem go away cause you might be a troll. Or you will be submitted to a Troll test before you will be admitted....
...nah...probably not. I know that we would all prefer to provide help to the huddled 6.0 masses. Even if it means living with a troll for a couple of days.
Sorry for the long post but, you asked for opinions and I gots lots of those.
From one simple mind to another ...here you go...and there you are.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
WoW !!! If only we could get Choctaw Bob to know his place and get that attitude of respect now
(Oh, he calls me that too, but in just a tone of Hey, OLD MAN
)Just kidding of course....
And I respect the thought that went into your point of view...
That's what I'm trying to generate ---
some thought and discussion on this subject and seems like it did
My concern is that the new guy researching honest opinions will log onto here and see the "It Blew UP again !!! " type post and miss out on the fun of ownership of these great trucks !
