1999 Expy EB. 83k miles. When I'm driving I hear a squeel / squeeking sound and its constant. I only hear it a lower speeds 20 - 30 mph but my hearing isn't that good. When I tap my brakes the noise stops. Then it starts squeeking again after I release the brakes. I've done a bunch of searches here but haven't found anything.
Can Any of you masters out there possibly point me in the right direction.
Try pressure washing your brakes. Could be dust buildup.
I would also pull off the wheels and inspect the amount of lining you have left. Could be the metallic "alarm" that hits the rotor when the brake lining is wearing thin.
Oddly enough, sometimes when the lining is thin but not ready for replacement, that "alarm" stops when you push on the pedal.
Needless to say, your brakes need some attention/inspection/cleaning. It doesn't sound serious though.
