'78 crewcab 4x4 value
The tranny leaks but shifts fine. The transfer leaks, but works fine, same with front and rear diff. Power steering gearbox is new.
It is an xlt, no tilt, no a/c, no rust, Dana 44 front, Dana 60 rear (open) with full race track trim. A few of the trim pieces need replaced (front fender, bed) but the hard to find trim is there and in good shape.
The truck is sun hammered so it needs new carpet, rubber, interior (xlt trim is shot too) rims, tires, and eventually paint. The paint might buff out, but I can't tell. I have my doubts though. It is 2-tone paint, with dark metallic brown and cream insert.
The body and bed are in very good shape. The truck has never been wrecked. Minimal body work is needed. The inside of the bed has the usual dings and dents, but nothing real bad. The outside sheetmetal is pretty straight and the roof is good too.
It seems to drive okay, but it may need some suspension/steering parts.
This truck basically needs restored (or at least fixed up so it's reliable), but it is fairly straight.
He also has a few parts that would probably go with it like a NOS 78 grille.
He wants 4500 bucks. Do you think it is worth buying?
It seems like a pretty good deal to me, but I want some other opinions as well.
Thanks
