It depends on the model you are dealing with, and where you buy the part. For your 150 on your proflie, the rod end can run between $30 to $60, depending on where and quality of the part. As far as changing it, it can be done at home but be warned, it can be trying to get it off if very rusty. It would need to be aligned after to be sure, as some would say they count threads and measure and this and that, but the only way to be absolutely sure is to set the toe. As for changing it, it is basic, take the nut loose from the tie rod end, take a good sized hammer, hit on the SIDE of the mount where the rod end goes through, this will pop the tapered bolt out, then take the adjuster sleeve bolts loose, and get a pipe wrench and spin the rod end out, keeping in mind the threads are opposing on the two sector halves so that they will pull together when the sleeve is turned. The same process basically applies for the inner tie rod end as well.

You might need a pickle fork tool to separate the rod ends. Buy a cheapo or borrow one as you will probably only use it this one time. You will have to go to an alignement shop as you can never eyeball these to the correct alignment.

Make sure they center the steering wheel....of course, if you go to a decent shop, you won't have to tell them that....
