Need help with '95 Explorer that won't start
Ok, here's the deal. The truck has 50K miles on it and yesterday I went to start her up and nothing. Didn't even make a sound. So I spend several hours troubleshooting. Here's what I found. First thing I did was check the battery (12.6V). Next I made sure all the cabling to the starter and solenoid was fine. Then I took a screwdriver and touched to two leads on the relay (fender mount) and the starter worked. Had the wife get in and turn the ignition while I did the screwdriver trick again and the truck started. Changed the relay thinking that was the problem but it wasn't. Hoping someone can give me some suggestions or advice as to what the problem may be. Going to check the ignition switch today but I doubt that's it. Please help. Taking it to the dealer is my last option. Thanks
