when workin at a gas station in 59,we were very busy as the gas station was connected 2 a store and people would leave their cars 4 oil changes while they shopped.well i had drained the oil on a merc wogon.then i had 2 go pump gas.as i was pumping i saw the guy working with me backing the wagon from the bay.i ran over and asked him if he had put oil in.he stared back at me with a blank look.any way he shut it down and the heat guage was climbing.
My first was when I was working at Ford doing oil changes and lubes. Did an oil change on a car and then fired it up to circulate the oil. Shut it off and got out to step into a giant oil puddle. I guess you should check to make sure the old rubber gasket comes off when you swap out the filters. Then I worked my way up to an Auto Tranny clinic. The oil pans on auto trannies tend to get welded in place with the cork gaskets. So the very first time I'm doing this, I take out all the bolts and it's stuck. I whip out my handy-dandy rubber hammer and you guessed it. Proceeded to wack the oil pan. Sploosh! Soaked head to toe in burnt dextron.
once i was removing the rear axle from a junk truck, and i proceded to torch the u-bolts off, just like i did on the front... except i didnt realize a big chunk on flaming hot metal was going to fly straight for my head at the speed of sound! needless to say i hit the deck as i felt the heat on my face, my dad was laughing his @%$ off saying it wasnt that close! then i repeted this 4 more times before i realised it was doing it because i had the frame jacked upp!!
i ran my self over with my own van ..... lol i had to remove the rear end .. i had already removed the drive shaft bolts from the tranny .. the e brake would not hold the rear tires to remove the shaft to rear end bolts so smart me .. (mind you the front isnt being held up on stands but rather ramps) ..i lower the rear to the ground to hold the tires , to remove the bolts ... well you can see where this is going ... im loosening the bolts ,, moving the whole van down the ramps in slow motion but not slow enough ... not crushing me but making it hard to breath and left pined under the van... lucky for me the doors are shut or i would have been complety ran over and my van would have been down a very long steep driveway.. my girl friend is frantic.. i telll her go get scott.... im laffing cuz its every bit 100 yards up hill and ther all smokers totally out of breath .. lol i have more dumb dumds but i do think thats my best .. lol
