Homemade Tymar Intake
I have a question, I'm trying to make a homemade Tymar style filter system, can I use a piece of 4 inch OD 45 degree angle PVC to hook a Napa air filter to on 99 powerstroke stock intake hose. The ID of the PVC equals 3 inchs will this restrict the air flow or would this still give me a better air flow than stock.

i have made my own open element intake as well but mine is an exact replica of the tymar brand (building your own really does save you much money!!!) but the filter and housing is the restriction not the piping throught 4" ID would be better.

Find a chunk of 4" exhaust pipe instead of the pcv pipe. Just check at a local truck shop they usually have some lying around. You might get lucky and find a chunk of 4" stainless. Polishes up and looks very nice.
