F150 Pcm Diagnostics
Can you tell me how to put the ECA,PCM or whatever the computer is called into diagnostic mode to read out the codes without having to procure an expensive scanner on my 1997 F150 Pickup? My Check Engine light has come on intermittantly but is on constantly now.

If you live near an Autozone, they'll scan it for you (except in CA, where you can 'rent' the OBD scanner for free).

Thanks for the Info Wm. I have found a store in my area and will proceed to check it out. I was thinking there must be a switch or method to make the computer flash the codes via Long and short Flashes of the Check Engine light. I read somewhere on the Net that you can the evaluate the sequence of flashing to determine the OBD Code and Error condition.
