You can find some neat information on VIN decoding by doing a search on 'Vehicle Identification Number' on any search engine.
From what I understand, your code is...
1 = Country code (1 or 4-USA, 2-Canada)
F = Ford
M = Vehicle type or manufacturing division
ZU73E = Vehicle features (body style, engine type, model, series)
4 = check digit
2 = model year (98-w, 99-X, 2000-Y, 2001-1, 2002-2, 2003-3)
U = Assembly plant
