My window is off track and I want to remove the door panel to see if I can get it back on track myself before I pay someone to do it? How do I get the panel off and does anyone have any suggestions before I take on this task.
LAST EDITED ON 25-Apr-01 AT 06:50 PM (EST)[p]Hi, I am not sure what year/model you have but here goes...
1. there may be phillips screws on the underside of the armrest (pull these out), then
2. the entire door panel may simply slide up (my 96 t-bird is like this)
3. there may be retaining clips on the door side of the panel (so they do not show). Snap-on makes a tool for this, nothing more than a two-tine fork for getting between the door panel and the door. hope this helps.
hope i didnt foget anything.

You've probablly gotten the panel off. The window regulator is opperated on a track with rollers and moves up and down with a silly cable to the electric motor. I had to replace the right rear regulator/track on my 93 4x4. Cost approx $200 for the regulator assy without the electric motor.
