And please note the 100K mile warranty is on the *engine* (and a reasonable set of its support systems, like injectors and water pump), not the *drivetrain* - so the transmission for instance is only covered by the 3/36 part of the warranty. (Though the Torqshift has so far seemed bulletproof compared to the sometimes finicky autos that preceded it.)
I have caught wind of a 250,000 mile engine warranty but don't know the validity of it...it might come in 2006, but not this year...I just remember hearing of some discussion about it.

i would ASSume ford would want to at least match isuzu's 7/200k warranty on the dmax.....but then again, we all thought they would want to meet, or beat the 590ftlb rating as well........we were wrong.

Isn't this 'possibly' because of the early Dmax injector warranty being raised to close to 200 thou and making Ford look bad?? Ford has got to be competitive here, and I think that the scare of the 6.0 issues and of course the 'NORMAL' conditions/issues may be forcing their hand.. And why to 250 thou?? Why not just up it to 150 thou. or so.. 'Either' the build and engine quality has vastly improved, OR, their just baiting the trap.. Improvements are there for sure, but more than double the warranty.. Could shoot themselves in the foot with a warranty that high.. And if it is true, how about an across the board warranty extension for the early buyers to say....150,000!! Come on Ford.. Pony up!!

and watch the price of the truck go up to cover it.
How true SBV45..
I'd like to know the 'formula' precent/vehicle that ford 'alots' to each unit to cover for possible repair.. I know that mine with its warranty repairs completed to date has been around 4500-5000.00 or so, and thats was to just get it to 8,000 miles!!
I looked on the net at our local Ford dealer to see if they had an 05 in their inventory.. Showed 2 available with colors and option choices.. Went down to have a look and was told not for another few weeks or so.. Bait and switch comes to mind here.. Tell'm what they want to hear...
