I ordered an 04 PSD in June of 03 and picked it up mid August 03. I have had 3 fuel injectors go out (Dec-03,Jun-04,Aug-04). To the best of my knowledge, I have the latest and greatest injector. 3C3Z9E527AE. This is the part number of the old injector removed and of the new injector installed. Is anyone else having the same problems? I have read other post talking about a C4 and C5. Is my injector a C3? I asked the dealer to replace all of the injectors, but they will only replace them when they fail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The C94s, of which I still have my original 8 were in production until the C95s in May 03. If your engine was built May 03 or later you have the C95s. No fuel injector is fool proof. Sorry to hear of your problems, but do you get your fuel from higher volume sources? Do you use fuel additive?
What happen that you had to change them? How did the truck run? Te reason I am asking is all posted on the thread "fickle sensor" under ford superduty heavyduty. Thanks
Bob's right. Use fuel additive. I order the Stanadyne off the net from http://www.dieselpage.com/additive.htm. Otherwise I use the PS where you can get at Wally World.
Check your oil level. Anything over 14 quarts may cause the oil to be beaten to foam by the crank shaft. Then the oil won't work the injectors properly.
This is a common problem that we all seem to forget.
Bob is right again. I just changed my oil and put in 13.5 quarts. Filled it to the middle of the Min Max range. That is where it stays. Ford even came out with a service bulletin on changing oil that says if it is above the Min mark don't add.
I have 17K on the truck. The local dealer says it is a mechanical failure--a nut somewhere on the last two injectors that have been replaced, has came loose. Ford will not let them pull the remaining injectors to check for same problem under warranty.
