guys im wanting a air intake, not sure which one yet. I honestly think
their all pretty good. But seems like the afe & tymar are really popular.
I like the afe's, haven't seen a tymar set-up. Out of the two which one
will run a cooler charge? Show me some pic's of yours if ya want. &
how would I go about getting a tymar if I did get one?

I purchased my Tymar setup through Tymarperformance. com Just delete the space. There will be a phone number shown. About $126 with extra Donaldson filter if I remember correctly.

I can't tell you which one is better - but I'll say this. I have an AFE intake on my truck now - but only 'cause I didn't find this site and had never heard of a Tymar before I got my intake. Personally I'd go with the Tymar for the cost side of things.
Yeah I really like the tymar, since it cost a lot less. Now does the tymar have the
big cylinder type filter like afe stage 2, & with the big intake duct? I think the mod
mug bit me. I think more about mods then worrying about having enough money to
pay for my new portable welder, heh.
Cool! So I geuss all I have to do is call them, & tell them I want the air intake for
truck & they'll ship it to my house, hmm. How do you go about paying tho? & when
I order over the phone I geuss I need to tell them I want the biggest intake they
have, or do they only have 1 for the 99+ psd's? Thanx & sorry for the confusing, long
replies.
Dale at Tymar usually sends his payment request to you through PayPal. That way you can pay with a card or directly through your bank. Give him a call as aposed to e-mail. It ususally take a week or two for him to answer all his e-mails. He usually ships to you the day of/after your order. He can get it to you as fast as your wallet can handle as well.
The Tymar plugs right in to a stock truck. It is usually the first mod done as it opens up doors for installing other mods. ie.. exhaust and chips/programers.
thats a heck of a deal, sounds like he's a good guy to deal with. I do have the
gauges & a power module as well. I really aint in need of a air intake, but it would
really allow me take advatage of my module. So I won't have to worry about high egt's. I hear they sound cool, & make the turbo whine slighlty louder? I hope.
Yes, pretty much any open element style filter will give you turbo whine you're looking for. I have the Ford AIS intake and love it. I went with that filter because my truck is still under warranty. Had it not been, I would have gotten the Tymar.
If you have a stock intake setup you sure as hell do need an aftermarket one! Those buggers are known for not sealing properly. It will lower your EGT's a little, but never enough to not have to worry about them.
well thats true about the egt's. But mine even if i get on it pretty hard they stay
within reason. But the one time that i dog it & dont watch the pyro is when pistons
get porosity in them, heh.
