Depending on weather, it seems, or bumps, whatever, intermittent speedo in a '95 with E4OD and 351W. Comes and goes, abs lights up, and trans shifts late and hard. Changed VSS, the plug to the VSS, and checked wiring. Even pulled the ABS sensor plugs in case they were sending a faulty response. Still sucks. Anything on this guys?
Welcome to FTE!
The intermittent part is what is most interesting. If you were driving down a smooth, dry road, everything would work properly?
Replacing the VSS & etc. was the right place to start.
There was absolutely nowhere in the wiring that had rub marks on it?
My buddy found a rub spot and assumed that the wire was still in 1 piece because it looked that way. Wrong! The system flat out failed after he taped it up. He then did a continuity check on that wire next & found it to be broken.
Needless to say, he was ticked!

You may need to think outside the box when you're double checking the wiring. A little gentle stretching and lots of continuity testing.
My buddy has over 30 years in the business and he really was ticked!!!
