Question plastic fuel lines

My '86 6.9 na f250 has hard plastic fuel lines that connect to the solenoid. I want to replace them as I am re-plumbing to run waste vegetable oil, but I don't know how I will be able to connect the new fuel lines to the solenoid and i can't work with the hard plastic lines. Is there a way to connect rubber or viton lines to the solenoid? How do the lines disconnect? Is there a special tool required, or should i just break them? (won't need them again, but I don't want to damage the solenoid)

I will also be moving the fuel filter and fuel/water separator from the hood and mounting them to the frame rail by the solenoid, as the will be used only for the diesel line. The vegetable oil has a heated racor filter/separator combo. The fuel filter should be easy enough to move, but the fuel/water separator is pretty well wedged in there. Any advice for taking it out?

I have done repairs on the stock nylon fuel lines by cutting the flaired ends off.
Then use 5/16 fuel lines pushed over the old line several inches.
Then take two small stainless steel clamps and tighten them snugly.
The line pressure is not high, but you do not want air leaks either.

There is a little plastic clip that holds the line into the connector, they are a pain to get out in one piece. Most auto supply places have them though.

As far as the water seperator goes a lot of guys are going to the new style seperator that goes on the fuel filter bracket. Then they are removing the lines and old seperator completely. I think there are only about 4 bolts that hold it in there.

Instead of pushing new fuel lines over the old ones, can I attach them to the solenoid itself? I want to use viton so that biodiesel will never be a problem.
