I'm replacing a 351 W in a 83 Ford 11,000 F350 Bucket truck (cherry picker) with a 351W from a 77 LTD
I've noticed the 77 harmonic balancer is shaped differently than the 83's and weighs approx. 1/2 lb. more
The bucket truck has a standard np435 trans and the LTD had an auto trans.
I would like to put the manual flywheel from the truck on the 77 motor but I am concerned about throwing everything out of balance!
Could anyone correctly solve this dilemma with out guessing
Thanks in advance!
Steve G.
351w never changed balance, it was always 28 oz. The 302 however, changed from 28 oz to 50 oz imbalance around 81-82. I'm giving flywheel balances here. Sorry I can't give you a definitive answer on the harmonic balancer.
