One of the best is out MidWest a recently released felon went to hold up a GUN store with a KNIFE. Surprise surprise he never made it out of the store alive.
They recently had one in the news where a robber fell through a roof window he was climbing on and the flashlight he was holding in his mouth went through his tiny brain.
I have a couple. I was watching America's Dumbest Criminals and there was one of the crash and grab robberies where the guy backed his truck through a store and grabbed all he could. Apparently his bumper fell off and he left it there with his liscense plate.
I heard another one about a clever bank robber who had the brilliant idea that instead of fleeing the scene of the robbery, he would jump into his trunk and wait untill all the commotion settled before driving off with his new found fortune. Well apparently he didn't take into account that it was summertime and after a few hours the cops heard a banging sound coming from a vehicle. They popped the trunk to find a severly dehydrated robber suffering from heat stroke.
couple for you - only these are dumb people who got robbed a lady who works for my dad - well her mum came back from holiday to find her place ripped off - she'd walked in and left the front door open - a guy wearing a backpack knocks on the door and asks to borrow a torch to start his motorbike cos its broken down so of the old dear goes and lends him a torch - helped the crook start his own getaway vehicle - they did catch him from her description though, - my mum last night answers the door a 2am (if i andswewr the door at the time of nite its with my samurai sword in my hand) everybody i know would ring my mobile or yell out this guy tells my mum (backpack on his back) that he's been chasing a guy who has been trying to break into cars (my mum " nope haven't seen anything" (they live down a 40m right of way with high fences all around) ) 10 mins later cop cars and dogs are there - does my mum tell the cops anything nah - heard of some other guys climbed up on the roof of a local mower and chainsaw shop levered open the skylight and set the alarm off - they did this about 10 times till the owner got ticked off and turned the alarm off thinking that the alarm was faulty - came back to an empty shop in the morning- another friend had sold his house and was moving out the next weekend - they had gone to work - a moving truck pulled up and emptied their house
Saw this on Spike TV today-police chase video show. The cops were chasing a twelve year old- I guess he stole this car. The cops backed off at 120 mph!! The kid kept going faster until he crashed. Nobody was hurt. When an officer ask the kid if he knew that he was in big trouble, the kid says "No I'm not cause I've got my seat belt on!"
Sad.
Houston Tx in the late '70's. Guy gets in a wrecker service impound area on Friday just before closing. He is found perched on top of a van Monday morning. He has not slept a wink or had food or water. Fideaux held him on top of the van the entire time. Fideaux could get up on top but just barely so perp had to keep knocking him back to the ground. Van was totalled due to the scratches from Fideaux's feet!
My wife works in a retail store as a co-ordinator, and she was the manager on duty when two women walked past the registers with full shopping carts, when they asked them to stop the two women left behind one shopping cart and ran to their car in the parking lot. Due to a recent event where a Store Manager in an adjacent town was shot in the parking lot none of the employees are allowed to chase a customer out of the store. They called the cops, and when they went to inspect the second shopping cart they discovered one of the ladys purses with all of their info. They found the ladies in question so fast they hadn't even got the loot out of the trunk lol.
One of my dad's friends sister's worked at a bank, and my dad's friend would drop her off every day, so everyone at the bank knew who he was. One day he dropped her off at the bank, and then 10 minutes later walked in with a gun trying to rob it. From what I heard, he did not ever wear a mask.
Is that stupid or what. I almost think that he must have wanted to get cought, because no one can be that stupid.
Just rememberd another one. A few years ago, my parents had car sitting in the street with a brand ne sterio. One nite all the dirvers windows on all the cars on the street were broken but nothing was stolen. Almost everyone on the block just coverd up the windows with trash bags, but my parents went out and got the window replaced. The next evening a guy knocks on the door, and asks why they put in the new window, while his budys are across the street reaching through the garbage bags for peapl's sterios.
The real stupid part is that he lived about 5 houses down the street and my parents knew him, but they did not know his friends, so being the genius that he is, he calls to them by name and tells them that the red car 2 houses down will be the last one for the nite. He did all of this infront of my parents.
I have to say though that his plan was not bad, break the windows the nite before, so that there will be less noise, and it would be easier to take the radios later.
a not to bright person walks up to a bank teller and hands her a hold up note. the teller looks at the note, and tells him "i can't take this, it is written on a citibank withdrawl slip. this is the bank of america, so you will have to go across the street to the citibank" he looks at her dumbfounded, and takes the note, and walks out and across the street. she calls the cops, and the citibank. the cops grab him as he is standing in line waiting for the next available teller.
i heard on "Paul Harvey" of a guy who used his pickup to drag a bunch of equipment- semi truck diesel engine and tranny, the bucket from a front end loader, bunch of other large heavy steel objects... 1/2 a mile or so tearing up the road / yards / fences / curbs. yep, he dragged the stolen merchandise to his own home.
i swear some of these stories you guys have put up here are "suicide by cop" stories... like the guy who walked into the store and got shot by 7 people. who would honestly do that if they didnt want to get killed
I got a story about a cop that did something stupid.
No offense to all you cops out there, the best wrestling coach I had, and a really good freind was a cop. This IS a true story.
A couple of years ago (I think in 97or 98 I am not sure) a lion had escaped. They decided to set a trap like I assume most of us would. One of the cops was told to go out and get bait, when he returned all he had was a box of donuts.
this is a true story, my neighbor was been chased by a guy who was the owner of a tape deck he had just stole. he was getting away when he ran passed another younger neighbor kid who shout out HI! Eric
