Carb Or Dist???????????

Hey guys its me again!!!
Today I started my 86 F-150 I6 300 4X2 4 speed, right, but now I dont know why it will die when I try to take off. basically everything is new, carb, timing gear, starter relay, coil, plugs, wires, fuel pump, sending unit9 in tank) rotor, cap, head gasket, battery. Except of a few items.
This is what i'm doing: i remote start the engine, engine will run idle, after 10 minutes then I play w/ the gas but it sounds thats hesitating and it will try to die, if I get it on first gear to take off it'll stall, I covered all the air leaks that I found. If I move the distributor counterclockwise then play w/ the gas then its fine but then the rpms will get high, I played w/ the idle mixture but even if I screw in or out engine wont change sound.
Another thing after 10 minutes of running idle ,engine will too hot to touch the carb. My distributor is not vac adv. it has the module on the side, now what position the distb. should be??? or what else could be???

Sounds like a timing issue. or maybe your carb/egr valve. There is a little plug at the end of two wires that loop the wires together. Remove that plug and set your timing to 6deg btdc. Then reinstall the little plug.

If it still does it I would check your float adj. and accelerator pump in carb. Or it could also be egr related... I dunno Good luck -Dave

Covered all air leaks? What do you mean by this? Did you replace all the cracked vacuum hoses with new ones or did you just try to repair the old ones. Vacuum leaks can cause 300s to hesitate and even stall. Make sure you have no vacuum leaks and the hoses are routed right.

If you have the TFI ignition, first you have to get the timing right. Then follow the directions on the emissions sticker to set the idle speed. When you disconnect the temp sensor for the computer and start the truck the idle should be high around 1600 rpm then when you connect the sensor the rpm should drop to around 700 rpm. The sensor is on the line above the thermostat housing. Shut the engine off, disconnect the sensor plug and start the engine then set idle.

Hey guys!!! Ok heres the deal: today I gave time to my truck and playing w/ it it cranked and run idle for 20 minutes.
My driveway is tilted abt 25 degrees , i tried to go up but it tryied to stall, then I played w/ the distributor, then I played w/ the screws on carburator and the engines started to sound good, not too high not too low (RPMS),mmm abt right, I give gas manually and it'll run good.
I decided to take it around the block but it wont go more than 25 mph, i played again w/ the carb and dist, trying not too go high or low on rpms, then I went around the block but it did the same thing not more that 25 mph, .
Its because this forum and you guys that i'm this far with my truck, asking and nagging, I learned a lot.
Whats next??? How can I go faster???
