I assume that you're talking about the transmission vacumn modulator? Get another estimate at a transmission shop.
The parts cost(high altitude)$126.00 from Ford.
You must remove the catalyic converter to remove the heat sheild to remove the modulator. About an hour and a half job R&R.
Don't forget to replace the vacumn hose ends at the intake manifold.

You can replace the modulator by removing just the heat shield
and if you have a short 8 mm box end wrench although my hand looked like a cat had gotten a hold of it by the time I was finished. Good luck!

tks mxer201....... afraid it is too late... truck is my sons and he did not get info in time to prevent dealer from "soaking" him. Suggested he use info to try to get dealer to adjust price but haven't heard from him. once again, tks, T
