Has anyone successfully llowered a 1999 Ranger? I have a 99 3.0 Supercab and I would like a 2" drop front and rear. What type of springs will achieve this in the front and how can I do this to the rear without a flip kit ?
I'm not fond of lowering trucks...but one of our users, Dono, has done a very good job with his truck. Probably the nicest lowered Ranger I've ever seen. Here's a link to his gallery: https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...2&albumid=2199

I think mine is successful. I used Bell Tech parts with Toxic shocks to lower mine 3" all around. The ride is not quiet as good as stock, but is OK and it turns like it is on rails. You do not need a flip kit for that small a drop, just drop springs with matching shocks. The rear drop is an easy driveway job, but the front requires an aleignment kit and is best left to pros ( I went to my local 4wheel shop and they did a great job). In the years since I lowered it I have had no excessive tire wear and the truck is dead level with 6.25" clearance at the lowest point (sides) which gives me plenty of room on the street.... front and rear clearance is higher. You can look over lowering options from Bell Tech and DJM at stylinconcepts.com. My gallery is out of date.... I've been meaning to update it, but the drop is the same. Good luck!

Thank you! Such a comment from a fellow truck-lover is really appreciated.

for the rear of the truck you could flip your stock leaf hangers to get about 1.5" lower in the rear...as for the front..I suggest getting a set of DJM 2" drop coils and a camber adjustment kit. Lowering the newer A-arm rangers is much easier...and cheaper. You don't have to buy lowered I beams.
I would NEVER bag a truck.... compressors, bags, valves, lines, switches, regulators, gauges - way too much to break or go wrong - lower it with springs and never worry about what might fail on your next trip. Just my opinion.

I started with the DJM 2/3 drop and found myself wanting it lower. I then dropped it more to 4/5. I'm running the toxic shocks in the front and air shocks in the rear just in case I have to carry a heavy load. The biggest thing to do is install the upper a-arm adjusters, it'll save you time and money when getting the truck aligned.
I agree with dono on the bag stuff to a point....if you want a lowered daily driver stay with the static drop, show truck go with the bags for slamed look. just my .02
Heya guys, just been tossing an idea around in my head the last few days, wanted a little more info/opinions. This little 96 B2300 I just bought has that ever-so-familiar and yet unappreciated by me, at least, "rake" to its stance. There's no real point in lifting the front end to level it out, being as it's just a 2wd, so I thought to drop the rear end to level the truck out. I don't want a slammed p/u, as personally, I don't see their point, but to each his own, I have no problem with. Lone_Ranger, could you give me a little more info on this you said some months back? :

Also, those little 14" steel wheels are starting to irk me, has anyone put 15's say from an F150 or 16's from a mustang on their ranger/B-series, and if so, what tire size options do I have? Looking for something that'll just give a little "meat" to the fenderwells, like maybe a 275/60/15 or mebbe a 255/65/16 under there, something like that.
I'm seriously on a budget with this thing, but if something can be done for free/near free, I'm all for it, so lemme know what y'all think, and thanks!!
Throw a couple of 100# bags of sand in the bed. Instant lowering kit! I also am tired of looking at my skinny little 14"s, I am thinking about 225/60 15"s. I have a lot of different wheels in storage, gonna have to dig them out and see what works. -TD
