Question

starting problems

I have an 84 f150 with a 351w but i dont know the engine year. Well my truck was runnin fine and it sat for a day and I tryed to start it and it wouldnt start and it was backfiring. Some one told me that it sounds like the timing gear is stripped but I was wandering if yall could give me some suggestions before I tear her apart.

You could have flooded it...

Yeah you probably flooded it. If it is the timing gear, it ryou change the oil you will probably find pieces in the oil.
