alternator test
Someone dropped an alternator off with me and asked if I could test it. Its from a 98 ford... not sure if its a car or truck.. and I dont know too much about this new stuff. On the back of it, its got a screw on the white regulator that says "ground here to test." Can someone tell me how I carry out this test? Im assuming the alternator has got to be in the vehicle but do I just ground that screw with the engine running and look for an increase in voltage? Thanks
