2001 Explorer Sport Trac
I find that a stern warning to leave them on the side of the road works well. It sometimes works better if you start slowing down and move over towards the side of the road. When that doesn't work, I press 3 and 5 at the same time when the radio is on (won't work while CD is playing) to disable them. When you get it, the little headphone symbol on your display will turn off. This is for my '97 Explorer so yours may not work the same way. There was no mention of it in my manual either, but there was in a co-workers '98. It looks like Ford forgot to put it in again when they redesigned the radio.
