My air con blows warm, after checking all electrics I found that the clutch on the compressor was not engaging BUT was receiving 12 volts at the connector.... something is limiting the current flow so that there is not enough to pull the clutch in. If I directly feed 12v from the battery to the clutch connector I get the clutch pull in and cold air.
Has anyone seen this problem before and what is restricting the current flow to the clutch? If it were a sensor then there would be not voltage either.
If I had a wiring diagram I could track back from the connector and feed at each point until I found the problem.
replace your low pressure switch which is normally located on or near the accumulater(drier) to test it, with the engine running and the a/c on, remove the harness which plugs into the switch and with a paper clip, jump the harness by inserting each end of the paper clip into harness, if the clutch on the compressor kicks on, then its the low pressure switch, if it doesnt then your problem lies elsewhere. good luck.
