Trying to get the headlight door rings off my '59. The screws are rusted tight of course. Couple of questions:
- when I do get this one screw out, will the ring come off or are there other lurking screws/bolts in the back
- I'm tring to drill a hole in the screw and use an EZOut....but not making progress. Is there a better type of drill bit to use? And has anything ever come out of anything using an EZOut??
I used and an electric drill(no battery), and drilled using small bits, and working my way up to larger ones. Using some oil, as cutting lubicant helps and moderate pressure. Eventually you drill the head off the screw and its then loose(this only works if you can get to the back of the screw to pull it out). -4speed
Thanks guys. I drilled and drilled.......eventually I drilled about 5 holes around the screw creating a hole and pulled ring off over screw. Not pretty, but rings were rusted on bottom....may not can use or use as replacement parts but they're off. See that Sacremento has replacements....
Thanks again,
crutch
