Replaced Sub Yesterday
I just replaced my blown sub yesterday. I replaced it with a 8" Memphis audio sub. The speaker is a duel cone wired for 2 ohms. The sound is much better than the factory. I bought it for $75 at a local audio store. I was also able to install without pulling the whole inside. I removed the paper cone and unpluged the wires. Then I just put pressure on the speaker and turned it counter clockwise. It only took about 5 min. to replace the whole thing.

Yes, all i pulled off was the cover over the speaker only. I then pulled the paper cone out of the speaker where i could take a pair of needle nose pliers and unhook the the 2 wires. I then pulled the speaker toward me and turned it counter clockwise and unscrewed it from the screw in the center back. Mine was very easy, I only spent 5 or 6 min. to do the whole job. I did use a cordless to unscrew the old speaker, I didn't have to worry about damaging the old speaker.
