That Armoire's were first built in the states because of taxes ????
Seems tax on houses was based on the number of rooms in the house and a closet was considered a room, so..... why not build a piece of furnture that was not taxed ?
I heard this a long time ago and was just reminded of it while touring this OUTRAGEOUSLY priced house yesterday....
Was this in New Orleans that this first surfaced ?
I recently had the opportunity to visit the house I was born in (it was for sale). It was built in the late 20's and was typical of the no frills houses of the time. There were no closets and no hallways, wiring was exposed with rotary switches, and door latches/locks were external. The main bedroom (of three) was a "sleeping porch" with screens on two sides. My grandfather paid $1200 for the materials to build it. I was born in the living room (coolest room) and the doctor who delivered me charged my dad $15. I am sure the house will be a national shrine someday.

If you replace the Chinese bearings with Timkins or any other "Made in USA" bearings it will run smooth.. I need a firing pin made for one of my pistols but the way your machine is wobbling I don't think I want you to do my work..
