I'm in need of tires. One of the things I want to do with my Bronco since I bought it is widen it a bit and get some of those cool looking fenders.
However I have a wheel on there that is 15". I'm in the market of a 16" wheel perferably offset so it gives me that wide appearance (where tire sticks out past the body of the car a bit). I was told spacers are a no-no for offroading ( I don't romp around in my bronco just use it in rough terrain to haul my atvs for a bit) and I was told by a Ford mechanic buddy of mine that they tend to make the lug nuts loose after so many miles.
Anyone know of a aluminum type wheel I can get that isn't too pricey and will give me the kick *** bronco wide stance? Online or mail order.. I need to get this done soon. Thanks for any response anyone may reply in advance.
PS bear with me on the subject.. I'm kind of new to the truck thing.
Get some 8" or 10" rims. That'll get you what your looking for. Stay away from the spacers. American Racing has some good prices on rims, as does some Micky Thompson. Look in the classifieds for some used ones. Sometimes you can get some good rims for a deal.
Well before you order anything, have you checked your state/county/towns laws? I know that in Mass, youre tire cannot protrude past your fender legally. Spacers are a definate no-no. I dont see how they can even be sold for vehicles bigger than a Geo Metro. Have you measured your current backspacing? I would imagine a call to any rim manufacturer, or distributor would put you in touch with someone who can tell you exactly what you need.
Check with your local tire and wheel dealer. I bought a set of standard chrome mods and they come in different configurations. The deeper the wheel, the further they will stick out without having to use spacers. I was able to put 33s on mine without rubbing. With standard spacing you can go to 31x10.5
