Remote Keychain not working
Can someone help with this one. I recently bought a 1998 Explorer XLT with remote entry. One of the remote keys works fine but the other doesn't. When you push the lock button, the locks will go down but immediately pop back up. It also seems to create havoc by causing it to lock and unlock without any buttons being pressed. The other keychain works fine. I did replace the battery but that didn't help and I have tried to reprogram without any luck. Can someone please help.

It looks like you have a faulty remote that might have the unlock button stuck closed. If that is the case then aside from taking it apart and checking the switch, you will probably need a new remote. My first suggestion would be to reprogram both remotes, however you already tried that.

Thank you very much for your reply. I actually went by the Ford place and their response was "I've never seen one do that". I really wouldn't have expected anything but that answer. My first thought is the same thing that it is the remote. Since it doesn't work anyway, I guess I will go ahead and take it apart, who knows, besides punching on this keyboard all day, I might be a budding electrician.
