The stroke is acting up.
Well last night I tried the 10k mod one last time and when i started it the truck started doing the surging and bucking like it did when i had the 10k on the brown wire. Well i took the 10k off and let it sit over night, went out put some more fuel in it because i thought it was low so i turned the key to the on position and off about 5 times then i started it and it ran ok but it took alittle longer to get it started (cranking), and the check engine light was on. So i checked all my sensors and they were all ok so i figured maybe its the really nasty battery terminols, so i cleaned them and it still started hard, well i went to autozone to get the computer checked and just happend that i got the district manager that used to be a diesel tech. We check the computer and it comes back no error yet the light is on when i turned it on. We checked 3 times just to be sure. Well i go to start it to leave and it starts it bucking, he looks over the wires and see's nothing wrong and then says maybe you blew out a glow plug messing with the 10k stuff (he didn't like the idea of the 10k). But we finally got it started and it wasn't missing or anything. then it died, get it started again and he says he thinks its either the fuel filter or fuel pump, i just replaced the fuel filter so I'm guessing its the pump.
WHat do you all think? I searched and someone on the board (think the name was ranly54 or something) had a problem just like this where he replaced the cam posistion sensor and checked his fuses, fuel filter everything then replaced his fuel pump, not sure if that solved it though. It makes sense that it would be the fuel pump just want to see what you all think before i go to the dealership to see if they pull up a code. Its a 96 by the way. Oh yea, and the truck sounds like its cutting in and out when i let off the throttle to slow down.
