ROTOR FRONT
Note: dual piston cal; (fr. serial #v80, 001); .94"
This is just an example, but what does the (fr. serial #v80,001) mean, and how can you tell if you're getting the right one?
Sequential build numbers is way to decode the year (build date) of truck.
77 was the last year of a single digit Letter with numbers to follow.
In 1978 the way was changed to 2 Letters followed by 4 numbers.
Now V80,001 is the change-over date for the brake parts that are date sensitive which might have been in say.... May 1977
What they mean is the rotor after the the VIN# of V80,001 is from the factory is .97" in thickness (not quite an inch)
Previous to that date the rotor was a different thiickness.
