4bbl Holley problem

Tell me if I am wrong but isnt the carb plate supposed to be closed when the truck is cold? Mine seems to be stuck open all the time on my Bronco. This means that I have to keep on the throttle in the morning to get it started and hold it at 2,000 rpm until it gets warm. Any ideas on what may be wrong?

Matt

The Holly should have either am electric choke or a manual choke. I think this is what you are reffering to. The easiest fix for this is to get you a manual choke cable. All it is is a cable that runs into the cab so you can manually open or close it depending on the situation. Mine had the electric choke that would start off closed and gradually open as it heated up. It finally gave out on me so I got a manual one that worked better because I had direct control over it. I think the cable was about $20 shipped to me from summit.

Is it an easy fix for the electric choke? The manual is definately an option, thank you, but is it difficult and as cost effective as converting to manual?

Thanks, Matt.
