85 2.3 timing idle issues
my 88 ranger has an 85 2.3L carbed. when i check the timing with the vac line off and plugged it sit at 2btc.. when i plug the vac line back in it jumps up to 20btc... i have a idle speed control box on my pass side fender, and next to that is a small eec box. i don't have a tach to see what i'm turning at idle. the carb is a motorcraft one cable controlled. i didn't see a idle control screw. anyone from washington know where i can take my trcuk to have things checked out. or know of a way to check things myself(which i prefer)... i love this truck it runs great and has gobs of power.. like 3x as much as my old 79 courier.
