Greetings, my explorer is at roughly 175,000 miles and it has a noise coming from the # 6 cyclinder area. the motor runs aweomse but the noise is annoying as hell. So i decided, with the help of my dad, to rebuild it ourselves. It's a '91 v6 4.0 L pushrod engine. Anyone ever pull this engine before? Any suggestions? ALso, know any websites that have rebuild kits for my engine? Anything at all that i should be aware of when doing this? Thanks!
Have you or anyone found anything on this, My 92 Explorer Sport has 360,000 Km. on her and i fear that the engine will need a refreshment as well. Any info on this would be appreciated
Try www.buyengines.cc They have good prices on remanufactured
engines. The 4.0 ltr is around $1300.00 for a Long block.
The engine I got from them was a first class remanufacturing
job. no complaints. The rebuild kits are cheaper, but factor
in machine shop costs, ect and it's not that expensive.
