I have a 1992 F-150 with a 302 5.0L engine, I have installed a 1000watt amplifier and two subs, but the alternator will not provide enough juice to run it, I have been told that a alternator from a ford taurus of the same year will fit, and give me more amps, as the stock ford truck only came with 75 amps, and the tauruses came with 130 amps, is this true, and if so how do I hook it up, I have access to an alternator from a 1993 Ford taurus 3.0L, ??????
Be careful with those alternators, it doesn't take much to start blowing fuses and things. If I were you, I would just buy a $100.00 capacitor for your system. If you don't know what I'm talking about, they are big battery looking things that will steal power from your truck when it's not using it, and feed it to your amp when you REALLY need it w/ those hard punching hits
