'95 Explorer has No Emergency Flashers

'95 Explorer has No Emergency Flashers
I am trying to get an idea of where to start looking for a solution to why my emergency flashers do not activate when the switch is pushed and released into the on position.
I did the first basic check on the fuses to the left of the dash console and it looks fine. My blinkers work fine and I looked under the dash and don't see a seperate flasher unit, or what appears to be one, for the emergency flashers - as the older vehicles I have owned had.
Any ideas from experience would be appreciated.
